Fallen

This project took hold of me on July 13th, 2014 and proclaimed its need to be written. It is primarily an experiment and has brought with it a long list of firsts. Not only is it a retelling (of Verdi's La Traviata), but it also demanded to be written in first-person present—a narrative mode I rarely like and absolutely never thought I would be writing myself.  Only goes to show, we really have no idea where life or writing will take us.

Because it's in such a difficult mode, it's taking quite a bit longer to finish than my other stories. The first full draft was finally completed (two and a half years later) on January 29, 2017!

To celebrate the completion of the first draft, I decided to go ahead and reveal the cover—designed by lovely and talented Christa of Paper & Sage nearly a year prior. However, the story will likely not be ready for publication for some time.
