My Extra Tip:
Although "affect" is most commonly used as a verb, and "effect" is most commonly used as a noun, they can both be used as both a noun and a verb (so #4 is only almost right).
- Affect (v): To influence something
- The weather frequently affects people's moods.
- Affect (n): Observable manifestation of an emotional response.
- Her affect was completely inappropriate for the funeral.
- Effect (n): The result of an influence
- His constant whining had the effect of alienating his peers.
- Effect (v): To make something happen
- The nonprofit's goal was to effect change for the local community.

Thanks for this, Aria. I'm pretty good with the rest, but it's that affect/effect thing that always trips me up. What's worse is that I cannot seem to keep the differences in my head-after I just read them! :0)
